Special elections called to replace legislators Harbin, Ramsey

[private]Special elections have been called for Nov. 3 to replace former legislators Ben Harbin of Columbia County in House District 122 and Ron Ramsey of DeKalb County in Senate District 43.

Harbin resigned from the Georgia House in July after more than 20 years as a lawmaker to work for the Southern Strategy Group lobbying firm.

Ramsey resigned his Senate seat when Gov. Nathan Deal appointed him an associate State Court judge for DeKalb.

The candidate qualifying period for those special elections will be announced later by Secretary of State Brian Kemp.
