[private]Several changes have been announced in Georgia Senate committee chairmanships because of the recent resignations of Ross Tolleson and Ron Ramsey from the Senate.
Sen. Frank Ginn (R-Danielsville) was picked by the Senate Committee on Assignments to replace Tolleson as chairman of the Natural Resources Committee. Sen. Jack Hill (R-Reidsville) will take over Tolleson’s slot as vice chairman of the Rules Committee.
Sen. Brandon Beach (R-Alpharetta) replaces Ginn as chairman of the Economic Development Committee. Sen. Bruce Thompson (R-White) replaces Beach as chairman of the Science and Technology Committee.
Sen. Lester Jackson (D-Savannah) replaces Ramsey as chairman of the Urban Affairs Committee.
“We are fortunate to have a wealth of talent and experience in the State Senate,” said President Pro Tem David Shafer (R-Duluth). “I am confident that our new committee chairs and committee members will do great work.”
