[private]Gov. Nathan Deal on Wednesday signed the amended state budget for the current fiscal year, clearing the decks for lawmakers to work in earnest on the spending plan for fiscal year 2018.
The $24.3 billion revised budget includes $50 million to establish the Georgia Cyber Innovation and Training Center in Augusta, $27.3 million for a 20 percent increase in pay for state law enforcement officers, and $109 million for mid-term adjustment to meet public school enrollment growth.
“This budget reflects the solid economic growth that Georgia continues to enjoy and ensures that our communities will be safer tomorrow than they were yesterday,” said Deal.
