WXIA poll has Ossoff at 43% in 6th CD race

[private]A poll commissioned by WXIA-TV has Democrat Jon Ossoff at 43 percent in the 6th Congressional District race.

Ossoff has forged a substantial lead over Republicans Karen Handel (15 percent), Bob Gray (14 percent), Dan Moody (7 percent) and Judson Hill (5 percent), but is still well short of the 50 percent plus one it would take to win the April 18 election without a runoff.

Ossoff hopes to capitalize on anti-Donald Trump sentiment among voters to win this seat in a Republican-leaning district. His best chance may rest in winning outright on April 18, although that still looks like a long shot at this point.

The telephone poll of 900 registered voteers was conducted by SurveyUSA between March 27 and April 2. Out of that polling sample of 900 voters, 503 were determined by SurveyUSA to have already voted or likely to do so before the deadline.
