Ossoff opens up 7-point lead over Handel in AJC poll

[private]A poll commissioned by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution shows Democrat Jon Ossoff with a seven-point lead over Republican Karen Handel in the 6th Congressional District runoff.

The AJC poll, which was released Friday morning, has Ossoff with a 51-44 percent advantage over Handel, which is outside the poll’s 4 percent margin of error.

It is the second poll of this race to show Ossoff with a 51-44 percent lead – a SurveyUSA poll released on May 23 had an identical spread between the two candidates.

Other polls conducted for WSB-TV by Landmark Communications show a much closer race, with Ossoff leading by only one or two points.

The AJC poll consisted of telephone interviews with 745 likely voters and was conducted June 5-8 by Abt Associates.
