Congressional candidate: ‘Thank God for Obamacare’

[private]Donald Trump may have promised to repeal Obamacare, but the issue is still alive and well in Georgia’s 6th Congressional District race.

Former TV newsman Bobby Kaple, one of the Democrats hoping to unseat Republican Rep. Karen Handel, has released a commercial in which he thanks God for Obamacare and vows to fight Trump to keep the healthcare program alive.

The TV spot (view it here) mainly features shots of Kaple’s premature twins, Camden and Alice. The script:

This is Camden and this is Alice. Happy, health kids. But that wasn’t guaranteed.

I’m Bobby Kaple and I’m their dad. Camden and Alice were preemies, a little over three pounds each, but they got bigger. It cost hundreds of thousands of dollars to keep them alive.

Thank God for Obamacare. I approve this message, because there isn’t one reason why I’ll stop Donald Trump from repealing healthcare in Congress – there are two.

It’s a daring message in a state where the General Assembly passed a law four years ago forbidding the governor from participating in Medicaid expansion without legislative approval.

Handel has said repeal of Obamacare is one of her major goals.
